A comparative study conducted by the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) noted that geoscience jobs are to increase at a higher rate than other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) jobs. The study uses data collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics which predicts job growth over the next decade, juxtaposing geoscience industry with its technology, math and engineering counterparts. Aside from comparing overall STEM growth with geoscience specific growth, the study also details projected employment of several fields within geoscience.
