Purdue University's Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences is a multidisciplinary department of the College of Science, requiring the use of mathematics, physics, chemistry, statistics, and computer sciences to research problems; along with state of the art computer and laboratory facilities for calculation, visualization, and experimentation. The mission of the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences is to serve the citizens of Indiana, the United States, and the world through discovery that expands the realm of knowledge in basic and applied Earth, atmospheric, planetary and interdisciplinary sciences, learning through education and the dissemination of scientific knowledge, and engagement through the exchange of scientific skills and understanding.
