Postdoctoral positions at Brookhaven National Laboratory

The Environmental & Climate Sciences Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions.  The research will focus on (1) the development of a novel instrument for rapid measurements of aerosol hygroscopic growth and mixing state based on a Fast Integrated Mobility Spectrometer and/or (2) the processes that drive the properties of marine boundary layer aerosol and the interactions between aerosol and clouds in an upcoming field campaign in the Azores (http://www.arm.gov/campaigns/aaf2017aceena).

The successful candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. (within past five years) in atmospheric science, engineering, or a closely related field; background in aerosol research and demonstrated experimental skills; demonstrated commitment to publication of results; and, verbal and written communication skills, able to converse with clarity verbally and in writing. Previous experience with field measurements and demonstrated skills in complex data analysis and instrument development are highly desirable.
