The Cooperative Institute for Marine Resources Studies (CIMRS) was established to foster collaborative research between NOAA and Oregon State University. One of the projects within the scope of CIMRS at the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) in Newport, Oregon, is the Earth-Oceans Interactions Program, which is a collaborative research effort with NOAA-PMEL and the JISAO Cooperative Institute at University of Washington in Seattle.
