Universidad de Los Andes is the top private university in Colombia. It is among the top 10 universities in Latin America and among the top 300 universities worldwide. It has a student population of about 16,000, distributed among the Schools of Natural Sciences, Engineering, Law, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Humanities and Medicine. The Department of Geosciences belongs to the School of Natural Sciences and has about 300 undergraduate students.
