The Department of Earth Science and Geography at Vassar College invites applications for a full-time, one-year position for the 2017-18 academic year in paleontology, paleoecology and/or biogeochemistry at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning August 15, 2017.  Vassar College is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to increasing the diversity of the campus community and the curriculum and promoting an environment of equality, inclusion and respect for difference. The successful candidate will teach an introductory laboratory-based earth system science course, and will develop an introductory-level Freshman Writing Seminar, plus an intermediate-level course for earth science majors, based on his or her expertise.  Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Geology or Earth Science at the time of appointment.
