Lecturer - Geology
The Department of Geology, in the School of Earth, Society, & Environment, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer with research and teaching experience in sedimentology, stratigraphy, and/or paleobiology. Significant fieldwork and laboratory experience is desirable. The applicant should demonstrate excellent and innovative teaching ideally in large and small classroom settings, field and laboratory environments, and in-person and online formats. Responsibilities will include introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses, supervision of graduate teaching assistants and teaching collection curation. The successful candidate should demonstrate success and enthusiasm in teaching and have strong interpersonal skills. While the focus of this position is teaching, the candidate is strongly encouraged to mentor undergraduate students in research.

This is a 9-month position paid over 12 months; the successful applicant could be eligible to receive additional salary in the summer from additional service provided through grants or summer teaching. The appointee will be evaluated annually. Pending successful evaluation, the appointment will last for two years and may be renewed beyond that, contingent upon availability of funding, departmental need, and continued strong performance.
