The Ocean Ecology Laboratory at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center seeks a scientist with expertise in coupled global and regional physical-biogeochemical modeling and a strong interest in the assimilation of satellite ocean color products into these models. The individual will pursue hypothesis-driven research and will extend model capabilities through assimilation of satellite-derived ocean color products beyond the traditional chlorophyll retrievals. The scientist will lead sensitivity analyses designed to drive improvements in the ocean color products and to facilitate the development of new products. The position is expected to interact with atmospheric and hydrologic modeling groups within GSFC and the general community. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an externally funded research program.
The above position is intended for a civil servant hire and restricted to U.S.A. citizens. A Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Earth sciences or related discipline is highly desirable. Interested scientists should submit applications through USAJOBS (www.usajobs.gov) (search vacancy announcement # GS17D0131). Applications must be received by July 7, 2017 via the USAJOBS website.
NASA GSFC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
