PhD student position in Isotope Geochemistry
A PhD track graduate student position is available through the Peterson Lab (http://ww2.coastal.edu/rpeters2/) in the Department of Coastal and Marine Systems Science (CMSS) at Coastal Carolina University (https://www.coastal.edu/cmss/). The position is available for a Spring 2018 start date.
This position will focus on isotope geochemistry. Specifically, the position centers on using naturally-occurring radioisotopes to investigate mixing processes in the Amazon River plume. This project will include two research cruises and is in conjunction with research groups specializing in remote sensing and phytoplankton population dynamics. There will also be opportunities to explore additional research questions within this topic. Prior experience with isotope geochemistry and marine research is preferred.
A master’s degree is preferred for the PhD track position, but highly motivated applicants with a BS in Marine Science or a related field will also be considered.
Interested applicants should contact Rick Peterson (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details about the position. Please include your CV in the email contact. Applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply.
An application to CMSS is required for the position. For information on the application process (including GRE requirements and deadlines), please refer to: https://www.coastal.edu/cmss/phd/.
