Tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor, Geomorphology, Middle Tennessee State University
The Middle Tennessee State University Department of Geosciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in quantitative and process geomorphology beginning August 1, 2018. Applicants with field-based teaching and research experiences and the ability to teach computational geoscience methods courses are preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake collaborative and multi-disciplinary research within the department and university, and to be actively involved in university and professional service. Candidates must have completed a PhD in geosciences or related field at time of appointment.
MTSU Geosciences offers BS degrees in Geoscience with concentrations in Geology, Physical Geography, Environmental Science (beginning Fall Semester 2018), and a MS concentration in Geosciences. The Department is comprised of 12 faculty and research staff, approximately 100 undergraduate majors, and 20 graduate students. In 2017, the Department moved into new teaching and research facilities, including specialized laboratories in GIS, remote sensing, hydrology and geochemistry. The Department emphasizes excellence in teaching, while also supporting the development of new and innovative research programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
