The Environmental Geochemistry and Oceanography research group at the University of Hong Kong invites applications for a PhD-student position in paleoceanography, environmental oceanography or biogeochemistry.

The precise subject of the thesis will be decided upon agreement between the candidate and the supervisor and will depend on the candidate interests and strengths and the research interest of the group, which include paleoceanography, trace element in marine carbonates, nitrogen cycle (past and present) and marine pollution.

We encourage applications from enthusiastic and self-motivated students who have demonstrated academic and research excellence in environmental or earth sciences, chemistry, or a related quantitative discipline. Applicants should have a 1st class honours degree or a 2.1 honours degree plus Master's (or equivalent). Experience in geochemistry and/or mass spectrometry is considered an asset.

The position will be granted with a competitive salary.
