The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) invites applications to fill a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Atmospheric Science. The initial appointment is for one year, beginning August 20, 2018, and may be renewed by the program for up to an additional two years. The area of research expertise is open. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per academic year. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to advise or co-advise graduate students and to contribute to undergraduate student advising and recruitment. A competitive compensation and research start-up package will be provided depending on qualifications and experience.

 

Minimum qualifications include i) an earned Ph.D. in atmospheric science, meteorology, or related field prior to August 2018; ii) a research specialization in atmospheric science, meteorology, or related field; and iii) ability to teach atmospheric science courses. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated or realized potential for i) effectively teaching atmospheric science courses; ii) high scholarly productivity (e.g., publications, external funding); and iii) collaborative research.
