Tenure-track faculty position in Petroleum Geology
The Department of Geology at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor rank in the area of Petroleum Geology to begin on August 15, 2018.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in petroleum geology, along with introductory geology courses. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous research program in the field of petroleum geology / reservoir characterization, and to supervise graduate students in this important area. Preference will be given to relatively recent Ph.D. holders having some industrial experience in the petroleum sector, used softwares related to reservoir modelling, and familiar with Middle East (including Levantine) Geology.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in the petroleum geology domain with field-based research and strong research records as demonstrated by publications in scholarly journals.
The initial appointment is for four years. The Department offers both bachelor and master's degrees.
