Information Technologies seeks candidates for the Director of IT Communications & Customer Success position. The Director of IT Communications & Customer Success is a key position within the central IT division that works in partnership with technology leaders and business partners across colleges and departments at the University of Delaware. The incumbent develops information programs, communications, and information technology protocols that advance and support increased customer success via effective and timely communication about IT services and support.  The incumbent creates, plans and/or directs strategic and essential communications surrounding IT services and support for Information Technologies at the University of Delaware.

The Director supervises a team who works in close collaboration with IT directors in the provision of IT services and will coordinate the maintenance of IT websites and the IT service catalog.  The team also works closely with the project management, change management and service management specialist to ensure customer and division success in all aspects of IT offerings.

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, English or other relevant discipline and at least six years of job related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  The job requires experience in developing strategic communications, public relations or marketing, and media relations, preferably within a complex organization. Excellent writing and communication skills as well as proficiency in techniques of electronic publication and web development is also required. The successful candidate will also have strong project management skills and ability to lead substantial communication projects in a variety of media to completion. Information technology experience in a centralized IT division serving a large organization and experience working in higher education is preferred.
