Dr. Walter McDonald and Dr. Anthony Parolari in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at Marquette University are seeking a PhD or M.S. student for a newly funded research project through the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District to start January 2019. The goal of the project is to develop low-cost active controls that can augment green infrastructure practices to improve volume and peak flow mitigation. The graduate research assistant will work on active control development (hardware, software, power, etc.) and field implementation of controls within green infrastructure practices. Strong candidates will have a background in civil engineering, stormwater management, field monitoring, and/or electrical and mechanical systems.

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with the ability to work across disciplinary and institutional boundaries. In addition to the desired project-specific qualifications, the successful candidates will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in civil and environmental engineering or other related field, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

The position has an anticipated start date of Spring 2019. Interested candidates should send a statement of interest and a resume to Dr. Walter McDonald (walter.mcdonald@marquette.edu), as well as complete a graduate school application at http://www.marquette.edu/grad/futureapply.php/.
