Monmouth University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor in Physics in the Department of Chemistry and Physics. This position is for the 2019-2020 academic year and is tenure track. Applicants must possess a doctorate in physics or closely field, and demonstrated experience in the area of biophysics research. This will be critically important in order to maximize the potential for research collaborations with undergraduates and colleagues within the School of Science. A postdoctoral or comparable research experience is highly preferred. Special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in, or the strong potential for, research collaborations with undergraduates and the potential to bring in external support for their research.
The Department of Chemistry and Physics, which offers an ACS -certified degree in chemistry, includes 15 full-time faculty and three support staff and serves approximately 120 undergraduate majors seeking degrees in chemistry, medical laboratory sciences, or a minor in physics.
