The Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences at Louisiana State University is currently seeking applicants for a funded M.S. or Ph.D. graduate assistantship for Fall 2019 enrollment. Prospective graduate students interested in meteorological research topics in a coastal environment are encouraged to apply. Applicants must possess a background in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field. Experience with computer scripting (e.g, Matlab, Python, R) is advantageous. The selected student will work with Dr. Paul Miller to develop a specific thesis/dissertation topic. Louisiana’s unique coastal environment provides a natural laboratory for understanding meteorological processes at the land-sea interface.
The Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences is housed within LSU’s unique College of Coast and Environment. In addition to the M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences, the Department also a B.S. in Coastal Environmental Science. More information about the graduate program is available on the website: https://www.lsu.edu/cce/graduate/docs/index.php

After coordinating with Dr. Miller, candidates must submit a departmental pre-application by December 31st with approved pre-applicants invited to submit a formal application through the LSU Graduate School by late February.
