Post-Doctoral Fellow in Urban Ecohydrology / Hydrometeorology at Wayne State University
The Papuga Lab at Wayne State University is looking to hire a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Urban Ecohydrology and/or Hydrometeorology to continue to build our Environmental Science in Detroit (EnviSciD) team. Our interdisciplinary team is focused on working on urban environmental challenges in Detroit, while understanding them in the context of a spectrum of urban areas around the country. As a part of this team, you will use ecohydrological and hydrometeorological approaches in multiple applications related to the optimizing and maintaining the services provided by our urban ecosystems. Not only do we consider the spatial and temporal variations of those services, but also consider their social context. Our team has projects that look at stormwater management, green infrastructure, contaminant transport, urban gardening, urban phenology, and urban micro-climates. Our objective is to demonstrate how ecohydrological and hydrometeorological approaches can be used for developing an understanding of complex urban environmental science issues and enable quantification of metrics that can be applied to ecosystem services in the urban environment.
Most of the work will be conducted in Detroit, but the successful candidate will also work closely with colleagues at the University of Arizona and in the Urban Water Innovation Network (UWIN | https://erams.com/UWIN), a consortium of multiple academic institutions and key water industry partners.
For more information or to discuss this opportunity, please contact Dr. Shirley Papuga at firstname.lastname@example.org (no applications).
