The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Memphis invites applications for an Earth Scientist with research emphasis in hydrogeology or hydrology. Applicants should have a fundamental working knowledge of hydrology or hydrogeology, have an aptitude for conducting quantitative field or modeling studies, demonstrate a fundamental knowledge in performing spatial analyses, and complement and extend research programs within a multidisciplinary department. Specifically, we are looking for a faculty member to augment our growing research program in regional hydrologic and hydrogeologic studies, many of which already have external funding through the Center for Applied Earth Science and Engineering Research (CAESER). The successful applicant will develop an active research program, compete for external funding to support their research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to the service mission of the University. Review of applications will begin in January of 2019, and may continue until the position is filled. Please submit a curriculum vita, statement of research and teaching interests, copies of as many as three significant publications on which the applicant is an author or co-author, and contact information for at least three professional referees.
