Job Details
Applications are invited for a PhD graduate research assistant in Environmental Management at Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ, USA (located 15 miles from New York City). Working with Dr. Eric Forgoston’s research group, possible projects include:
• Performing geospatial modeling and economic analysis for the spread of ecological pests.
• Understanding invasion and extinction in ecological food web systems.
• Modeling the outbreak, spread and control of infectious disease.
• Predictive modeling of material transport in the ocean.
Applicants who have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong background in mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering, or a related field, and who are interested in environmental management are encouraged to apply. The PhD research assistantship is held in the interdisciplinary Environmental Management doctoral program, and therefore the applicant must fulfill all requirements for acceptance to the PhD program (http://www.montclair.edu/csam/environmental-management-phd/). The PhD graduate research assistantship provides a stipend and covers the cost of tuition. The assistantship is expected to begin in September, 2019.
