NASA-USGS Joint Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Silicon Valley
A two-year post-doctoral research fellowship to help solve national challenges using the power of two leading scientific agencies in the heart of Silicon Valley. Fellows will be co-advised by both NASA and USGS scientists.
Opportunity 1: Water from Orbit: Verified AI tools for detecting water resource changes from orbit
Opportunity 2: Hyperspectral instruments and techniques to map strategic minerals
Opportunity 3: Hyperspectral Data Products for Ecosystem Science and Natural Resource Management
Details:
- Postdoctoral hiring authority for a term Federal employee, with 2 years of provided funding
- Federal position with associated benefits
- Duty station will be USGS Moffett Field, California
- Base Salary is GS-12, Step 1 ($88,582 in 2019)
- Eligibility for US citizens with Ph. D. granted no more than 5 years before the Fellow’s start date
- Advertised opportunities will ask for an 8-page research proposal, transcripts and any other documentation required (e.g. foreign degree accreditation)
