  • Providing systematic analyses of the current state of facilities worldwide that support research in the areas represented by the Directorate including assessment of benefits of expanded activities, benefits of initiating national and international facilities, opportunities for new partnerships, including international, public, and private sector partnerships, and the potential costs. Provides guidance and assistance in determining GEO program areas that could be improved or enhanced via such new or expanded international cooperative and/or public or private partnerships.
  • Anticipating life cycle issues related to major facilities and advises GEO facility managers so that informed planning is completed in a way that enables continued operations and effective support of scientific goals.
