Job Details
Funded PhD opportunities in hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry are available at the University of Saskatchewan through a joint research initiative led by Dr. Grant Ferguson at the University of Saskatchewan and Dr. Jennifer McIntosh at the University of Arizona. Projects will examine the limits of sustainable groundwater use from both physical and geochemical perspectives. Specific research topics include but are not limited to:
- What are the important geological controls on groundwater development at large scales?
- How does groundwater quality vary with depth globally?
- How is groundwater residence time linked to sustainable groundwater development?
- How is the energy industry affecting groundwater availability?
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in hydrogeology or geochemistry or related field of study
- Knowledge of computer programming and geographic information systems
- Must meet The University of Saskatchewan’s College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS) eligibility requirements
In addition, the candidates should have:
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner with team members
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to participate in field work
