The Department of Geosciences at Utah State University (USU), Logan, invites applications for an academic-year (9-month), tenure-track Assistant Professor in Sedimentological Processes and Records to begin August 2020. We seek candidates who conduct innovative and quantitative research in areas such as: interpretation of sedimentary successions for environmental and evolutionary change across all time and/or spatial scales, critical zone processes, life-sediment interactions, and near-surface geophysical investigation of sedimentary architecture or other characteristics.

Successful candidates will demonstrate potential for excellence in research and scholarly leadership through development of an externally funded research program. Teaching responsibilities include contributing to our undergraduate curriculum, and offering graduate courses in the candidate's specialization. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred.
