A funded PhD graduate research assistantship position is available at Marquette University in the McDonald Research Group to study urban stormwater management with an anticipated start date of Jan to Aug 2020.

The student will work on a project to develop and evaluate smart stormwater management systems that integrate green infrastructure practices, active controls, and drone remote sensing to adaptively manage stormwater infrastructure. The student will be expected to perform independent research and must be highly motivated with the ability to work across disciplinary and institutional boundaries. In addition to research, the student will receive unique training and experience in teaching to equip them for a potential academic career.

The research assistantship is funded through the Department of Education Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) program. As a requirement of the funding program, the PhD candidate must provide evidence that they are U.S. citizens or nationals, are permanent residents of the U.S., are documented by the Immigration and Naturalization Service to be in the U.S. for other than a temporary purpose and intend to become permanent residents, or are citizens of any one of the Freely Associated States.

Interested candidates should send a statement of interest and a resume to Dr. Walter McDonald (walter.mcdonald@marquette.edu), as well as complete a graduate school application at http://www.marquette.edu/grad/future-apply.php/.
