Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Department of Earth Science and Geography at Vassar College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in biogeochemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the Fall of 2020.
The successful candidate will teach biogeochemistry, mass extinctions, and oceanography. Additional areas of interest include geohazards and paleontology. The successful candidate will also engage in research with undergraduates during the school year and possibly as part of the Undergraduate Research Summer Institute.

Qualifications
Candidates should send a letter of application, C.V., graduate school transcript (unofficial copies accepted for initial application), at least three letters of recommendation, statement on diversity and inclusive pedagogy, a statement of teaching experience and philosophy, and descriptions and/or syllabi for an introductory-level oceanography course, an intermediate-level biogeochemistry course, and upper-level seminar in mass extinctions or another topic of expertise. Candidates should also send a description of a fourth course that s/he/they might be interested in teaching at any level.
