ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF EARTH AND ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES (tenure track, Atmospheric Sciences)
Applications are invited for a tenure track position in Regional Climate Modeling as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment and should provide evidence of (or demonstrate strong potential for) research in regional climate modeling and teaching excellence in atmospheric science. Preference will be given to applicants with experience using high performance computing and to those with demonstrated leadership in professional activities. Applicants with research strengths in the areas of climate dynamics or regional climate downscaling are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate atmospheric sciences curricula and develop courses in their area of expertise. The successful candidate will also be expected to advise and direct graduate students and to develop a rigorous research program that is supported by external funding.
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (https://eas.unl.edu) offers a B.S. degree in Meteorology-Climatology (as well as a B.S. degree in geology) and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences with an optional specialization in Meteorology-Climatology.
