Tenure-track Faculty Position in Mineralogy, Department of Earth Sciences, Memorial University of Newfoundland
The Department of Earth Sciences at Memorial University of Newfoundland invites applications for a full-time, at both introductory and advanced levels. Early career researchers are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Earth Sciences or a related discipline, a record of pertinent peer-reviewed publications, and the capacity to develop and lead an externally funded and analytically grounded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. Potential for research collaborations with current Earth Sciences faculty in basin analysis, biogeochemistry, crustal geophysics, economic geology, geochemistry, geochronology, and/or petrology would be an asset.

The Department of Earth Sciences is one of the largest and most comprehensive in Canada, and offers undergraduate, MSc and PhD programs. The department currently comprises 20 active faculty members, including the NSERC-Chevron IRC Chair in Reservoir Characterization and Canada Research Chairs in both Marine Geology and Boreal Biogeochemistry, as well as 10 instructional and research support staff. Faculty and students have access to an exceptional array of modern geoanalytical instrumentation through clusters of the campus-based CREAIT network (http://www.mun.ca/creait/).
