Description

 

The Department of Geography at the University of California, Los Angeles invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Surface Water Hydrology. We invite applicants working on present or future issues pertaining to the storage and movement of water on Earth. Applicants with a strong background in remote sensing, modeling and/or other geospatial approaches relevant to land surface hydrology are especially encouraged to apply. Our areas of interest include, but are not necessarily limited to:

 

1) Remote sensing of hydrology and water resources

2) Modeling and prediction of land surface hydrology

3) Implications of climate and land cover change on the land surface water cycle across a range of spatial scales, and implications of hydrologic change for water management.

4) Transport and deposition of dissolved and suspended constituents to and within riverine systems.

 

The appointment will begin July 1, 2020. A Ph.D. in Geography or a closely related Earth science field is required by the time of appointment. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
