School for Environment and Sustainability

The School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) at the University of Michigan is seeking applicants for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Sustainable Systems. We seek a scholar with demonstrated excellence in research and teaching in the sustainable systems field. Areas of interest include but are not limited to circular economy, corporate social responsibility, energy and climate economics, food/water/energy nexus, green buildings, resilient and sustainable infrastructure, risk assessment, sustainable mobility, sustainable supply chains, system dynamics and complex systems. 

The position will be filled at the assistant or associate professor (tenure-track) level.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in quantitative methods and analytical approaches to address sustainability challenges, such as engineering, physical sciences, environmental sciences, economics or other fields. Candidates must have a strong record of scholarly publication, evidence of teaching potential in a multidisciplinary setting, and a demonstrated potential for and/or trajectory towards national and international recognition. Importantly, we are seeking candidates who have an interest in using their research to help solve real-world sustainability challenges. Therefore, candidates should have some evidence of engaging stakeholders in their work, and evidence of collaboration across disciplinary boundaries to develop solutions to sustainability challenges in areas such as climate, energy, water, food, built environment, and mobility.
