The Department of Earth and Environmental Systems at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN invites applications for a tenure-track position in Structural Geology and Sedimentology/Stratigraphy.

The successful candidate will teach these field-based courses every other year and will participate regularly in the Physical Geology course. The department encourages additional courses that could include geomorphology, geophysics, tectonics, or other courses within the applicant’s interests. There is an opportunity to develop a bi-annual field course conducted in the United States or abroad.

Applicants should have extensive field-based experience and a Ph.D. in geology or a closely related field. Demonstrated success in teaching and the ability to drive a 12-passenger van will both be required.
