The Bureau of Economic Geology (BEG) of the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an outstanding individual interested in providing technical and scientific support for our ongoing research program to acquire, process, and interpret high-resolution 3D marine seismic data. Individuals with experience in marine seismic data field acquisition and interest in equipment maintenance, management, and development are encouraged to apply. Other responsibilities include participating in research funding and publication of research findings.

Minimum Qualifications:
- M.Sc. in geoscience, geophysics, geophysical engineering, or related field and five years of related experience or a Bachelor degree and eight years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated field experience (time at sea; familiarity with vessel field operations) with research- or commercial-grade active source marine seismic data acquisition hardware and software.
- Interest in participating in post-acquisition data processing and interpretation
- Participation in formal and informal publication commensurate with experience.
- Participation in funding applications for seismic acquisition projects or research studies.
