The Data Manager for the International Ocean Discovery Program (www.iodp.org) is a technical leader who will provide consultation, direction, and advice to research teams and proposal authors in the scientific ocean drilling community. The Data Manager will play a critical and visible role in the IODP management structure and serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert in site characterization data submitted in support of ocean drilling proposals. The ideal candidate will have experience with the collection, processing, and interpretation of marine seismic data sets, including 2D and 3D multi-channel seismic data, and seismic interpretation packages.  The position also has significant project management, technical development, and editorial responsibilities. The Data Manager is part of a small team of professionals in the IODP Science Support Office at Scripps and interacts extensively with external IODP facility boards and advisory panels, and the wider community of researchers engaged in scientific ocean drilling based at approximately 200 institutions worldwide.  For a complete description of responsibilities and required knowledge/skills/abilities, see the vacancy announcement at:

The position will remain open until filled. Due to the duration of our Cooperative Agreement, this is a 100% contract position that is expected to last for four (4) years with the possibility of extension or conversion to career status depending on the future of the program.
