We invite applications for a PhD position available (Fall 2020) in the field of Ecohydrology in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M. Research focuses on the interaction between hydrologic and biogeochemical cycles throughout the Earth’s Critical Zone, under changing climate and land use. The candidate will use both modeling and experimental methods to (1) quantify water, energy, and carbon fluxes (e.g., greenhouse gases), soil carbon sequestration, and plant productivity from the field to the watershed scale, and (2) to develop sustainable ecosystem management strategies.
The PhD program includes interdisciplinary collaborations within Texas A&M, the Texas Water Observatory, and an international research network. Majors in engineering, earth sciences, physics, or related fields are required. Experience in mathematical modeling and experimental work is desired.
The position will remain open until fulfilled. The target start date is Fall 2020, but a later date can be arranged. For general information on applying to the graduate program at Texas A&M, please visit "https://baen.tamu.edu/academics/graduates/graduate-admissions/".
If interested in the position or for more information, please contact Dr. Salvatore Calabrese (salvatore.calabrese@tamu.edu), including your CV and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in this position.
