The Department of Geological Sciences at New Mexico State University invites applications for a 9-month Visiting Assistant Professor sabbatical replacement position beginning 19 August 2020. Responsibilities include teaching Introductory Geology (online lecture), upper division classes GIS for Geology and the Tectonics of North America, and a graduate class in the area of neotectonics/structural geology. Fall 2020 courses will be offered online. New Mexico State University is located in the southern Rio Grande rift, with ample examples of many geologic phenomena. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. status or ABD in geoscience at the time of appointment.
The department offers programs leading to the BS and MS degrees and is fairly small with 5.5 faculty lines (https://geology.nmsu.edu/).
