Soil Biogeochemistry and Global Change Experiment Postdoctoral Scholar - 90025
Organization: CE-Climate & Ecosystems
We seek a postdoc to research soil carbon cycling and how it varies with soil depth and climate. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists in the Torn group. The overall project goals are to develop a more mechanistic understanding of the role of soils in ecosystem carbon cycling and to improve Earth system model representation of global change.
The postdoc will have the opportunity to:
• Set up and study a new experiment in grassland on plant-soil interactions under warming and/or
• Study an ongoing whole-soil warming experiment in montane forest, to look at 5-10 year biogeochemical responses.
• Apply isotopic measurements and other specialized approaches.
A PhD in biogeochemistry, soil science, Earth sciences, or related field is required along with demonstrated capacity for field work. Experience with ecosystem experiments is desired.
