The Lagrangian Drifter Laboratory (LDL; https://gdp.ucsd.edu/ldl/) at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), University of California - San Diego (UCSD) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar to work on the Global Drifter Program (GDP; https://gdp.ucsd.edu/ldl/global-drifter-program/) with a focus on measurements of surface waves from drifting buoys. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Lagrangian observations and upper-ocean dynamics.
At the time of appointment, the applicant must possess a PhD in Physical Oceanography or a closely related field and have less than four years of total postdoctoral service. The initial appointment can be for one or two years with the possibility of extension dependent on performance and funding. Salary and length of initial appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Postdoctoral Scholars at UCSD are exclusively represented by the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW).
