Fully funded PhD (4 years) and postdoc positions are available in the laboratory of environmental biogeochemistry in the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. I have a fully funded project aiming to understand soil emissions of nitrogen oxides in desert ecosystems. I am looking for students/postdocs who want to work on the biogeochemistry of the nitrogen cycle with an emphasis on processes governing soil emissions of nitrogen oxides. Knowledge of R, data analysis, nonparametric statistics, and ability to have fun and work in the field are an advantage. My laboratory is located at the Midreshet Ben-Gurion campus of the Ben-Gurion University. The campus is next to the cliff of the beautiful Tzin valley on the ancient incense trade route in the Negev desert. The campus has large English-speaking community of international students and the instruction is in English. Interested candidates should send letter of intent, CV, and 1-2 reference letters to igelfand@bgu.ac.il.
