The Konings lab in the department of Earth System Science at Stanford University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the group. Our group's aim is understand how ecosystems respond to and affect variations in water availability using remote sensing and remote sensing-constrained analyses. The postdoc will work to test newly derived datasets of canopy water content based on microwave radiometry and apply these to a variety of ecological questions.
Applicants should have strong, demonstrated quantitative, computational, and communication skills. Experience with hydrological or ecological modeling, data analysis of satellite data, and/or the retrieval and interpretation of microwave remote sensing observations is preferred. To apply, please send a cover letter describing your interests and a copy of your curriculum vitae to Prof. Alex Konings at konings@stanford.edu. Candidates from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. The search is currently open and the position is available until filled. This position is initially for a one-year appointment, but is renewable upon satisfactory performance.
Stanford University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of its staff. It welcomes applications from women, members of minority groups, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities, as well as from others who would bring additional dimensions to the university’s research, teaching and clinical missions.
