Ph.D. positions in Geothermal Science at Cornell University

Cornell University intends to drill in 2021 an exploratory borehole to characterize the hydrological-mechanical-chemical system of the upper crust, where Appalachian Basin strata overlie Adirondack-like Grenville basement. These studies underpin refinement of plans to later develop a deep geothermal heat-extraction well field. Beyond providing data to 3 km depth, the borehole will become an observatory and long-lasting laboratory.
