The Department of Geography at San Diego State University (SDSU) is seeking applicants for Master’s and Doctoral degrees in climate modeling, remote sensing, and hydrology starting in Fall 2019.

Successful applications will work with Dr. Trent Biggs (hydrology, remote sensing) and/or Dr. Fernando De Sales (climate modeling) on an interdisciplinary project on the relationships between deforestation, water resources, and farmer livelihoods in the Amazon Rainforest region.  The positions are sponsored by an NSF-CNH project grant and include registration fees, tuition, and stipend.

Applicants must possess (or expect to possess by the Fall 2019) a Bachelor’s (for the MS program) or Master's degree (PhD program) in Geography, Environmental or Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field. Strong skills in oral and written communication are required. Experience in data analysis and basic knowledge of computer programming is preferred.  The positions are open to residents and international students.

More information on both programs can be found at https://geography.sdsu.edu/Study/

For more information, please contact Dr. Trent Biggs (tbiggs@sdsu.edu) or Dr. Fernando De Sales (fdesales@sdsu.edu).
