The USDA Agricultural Research Service and Agricultural Water Use Efficiency and Salinity Research Unit (U.S. Salinity Laboratory) in Riverside, CA invites applications for a full time Research Soil Scientist position (GS 12, 13, or 14). The successful applicant will join a research group that focuses on the potential dissemination of contaminants from agricultural and wastewater reuse operations. Contaminants of concern include pathogens, antibiotics, antimicrobial resistant organisms and genes, and constituents of emerging concern (CEC). Incumbent conceives, plans, and conducts basic and applied research on chemical and physical mechanisms and processes that influence the release, transport, and survival of contaminants in runoff, surface, ground, and irrigation waters; the root zone of agricultural soils; and the food chain. Duties include providing technical and administrative supervision of a Biological Science Laboratory Technician and interacting with stakeholders.
