Graduate Student Opportunities at the University of Hawaii-Manoa
The Department of Ocean and Resources Engineering (ORE) in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST), University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa invites applications for full-time M.S. and Ph.D. students. We seek motivated individuals with degrees in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, earth science, or other natural sciences. The M.S. degree in ORE is ABET-accredited making it unique worldwide and within the United States. Successful applicants will be mentored by internationally recognized researchers and engineers, and engage with faculty and students across the School and University, and at other institutions. We strongly encourage applications by individuals from underrepresented groups, including but not limited to those representing the intersections of race, ethnicity, cultural background, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and physical ability. Graduate assistantships, research assistantships, and internships with local companies in Hawai‘i provide stipends, tuition waivers, and benefits. These are awarded competitively for research and for research and engineering projects in a variety of fields including coastal, offshore, resources, and oceanographic engineering.
