University of South Alabama/Dauphin Island Sea Lab: graduate student position in coastal/estuarine processes
A graduate student position (PhD preferred) is available to work with Dr. Brian Dzwonkowski. I am looking for a student with broad interests in coastal physical oceanography and air-sea interaction. The position is associated with a project that will involve using satellite-data, oceanic and atmospheric reanalysis products and in situ observations of opportunity across the global coastal ocean to develop an enhanced understanding of compounding air-sea interactions that lead to marine heatwaves and their relationships with tropical cyclones

Applicants should have a degree in marine science, mathematics, physics, meteorology, engineering or a similar field. The student would join the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of South Alabama, and must meet eligibility requirements for the department (https://www.southalabama.edu/colleges/artsandsci/marinesciences/). A successful applicant will receive a three-year research assistantship with annual stipend (including tuition and health insurance); funding in subsequent years could be through either addition research projects or teaching assistantships.
