We wish to appoint an innovative, collaborative and broad-thinking colleague as an Assistant Professor in Climate Science. We are particularly eager to hear from applicants with a focus on either Climate/Atmospheric Modelling or Remote Sensing.

This is an opportunity for you to help drive our collective response to a time of unprecedented environmental change. You will make a key contribution to teaching climate science to some of the brightest minds in the UK, helping to train the next generation of scholars and leaders. You will contribute to the Department’s future success by providing the highest quality, innovative education to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and by leading research at a high international level. You will help shape our new programmes in Climate Science and Data Science by contributing to curriculum design and teaching innovation. You will be encouraged and supported to build your own research group, to collaborate widely and to explore the full potential of the impact of your research. Your research may develop independent new research themes or contribute to existing themes in the Department and across the University, including cross-disciplinary and collaborative vehicles such as the Durham Energy Institute and the Institute for Hazard, Risk and Resilience.
