The School of Earth, Environment, and Society (SEES) at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sedimentary Processes beginning August 2021. SEES includes programs in Geology, Geography, and Environment and Sustainability and offers multiple undergraduate degrees in these areas and two M.S. degrees in Geology and Applied Geospatial Science.

We seek an individual who will develop a productive, collaborative, externally funded research program at BGSU in the broad area of sedimentary processes. 

The candidate will be expected to teach introductory undergraduate courses, a required course in Sedimentology and Stratigraphy for geology undergraduates, and upper-level undergraduate and graduate level courses in their area(s) of expertise. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to the summer Field Geology course. Mentoring of undergraduate and graduate student research is expected.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in geosciences or a closely related field (e.g., environmental science, geography) by the time of appointment. A background check and official transcripts showing highest degree earned are required for employment.
