PhD Graduate Research Assistant in Water Resources and Remote Sensing
Two funded research opportunities are available for highly motivated and creative individuals with a strong interest in pursuing multi-disciplinary approaches to address emerging issues at the interface of water, environment and human-health including:
Remote sensing of hydrosphere and water-related diseases: quantification, integration and prediction;
Modeling of hydrologic and climatic processes, issues of scales, observational data analysis with a focus on regional and global occurrence of water-related diseases;
Climate impacts on nutrition and food security;
Impact of climate change on outbreaks, prevalence, transmission and distribution of water-related disease;
Desirable backgrounds include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or geosciences with particular emphasis on environmental and hydrology-related coursework. A desire to develop strong analytical and computational skillset (e.g., GIS, statistical modeling, processing and handling of remote sensing data) is required and should reflect from your short statement of interests. Application through AGU Job Portal is highly encouraged. Please send latest CV, copies of transcripts and GRE scores.
