The Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Case Western Reserve University seeks candidates for two non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor positions for the 2021–2022 academic year starting August 23, 2021. We seek candidates with a broad background in the geosciences who will contribute to teaching and research in the department. The positions will address departmental teaching needs including upper-level hydrogeology and geochemistry courses, courses in global environmental problems, and introductory courses in the geosciences. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to teach an elective course in their specialty. The successful candidates will be committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Department and University.

The expected course load for each position is three courses per year. Both positions require completion of the PhD degree by August 1, 2021 and a record of research and teaching commensurate with rank.

Applicants should submit applications via InterFolio (http://apply.interfolio.com/86514) that include (1) a cover letter that addresses their qualifications and how they will contribute to teaching and research in the Department, (2) a diversity statement that explains how diversity, equity, and inclusion inform their past and/or future professional experience (scholarship, teaching, service) with further details available on the application webpage, and (3) a CV. Applicants should also arrange to have two letters of recommendation submitted via the application website by June 15, 2021. Other correspondence may be sent to Steven A. Hauck, II, Chair, Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at eeps-vap-search@case.edu.
