The Department of Geoscience (http://geoscience.unlv.edu/) at University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for graduate assistantships at the MS and PhD levels to start in 2022.

The UNLV Geoscience Department has opportunities for graduate positions in fields including planetary sciences, geochemistry, igneous processes, economic geology, marine geology, sedimentology, tectonics, hydrology, paleoclimatology and isotope geochemistry. The Department has 18 full time faculty members with wide geoscientific research interests and also contains state-of-the-art laboratory facilities including geochronology, stable isotope, environmental, metal stable isotope, elemental chemistry, SEM, and microprobe instrumentation. The Western United States and Nevada present ideal field-based research and recreational opportunities, with close access to several National Parks. Assistantships include a competitive stipend and tuition remission. The Department also awards the Faye and Jack Ross Family Doctoral Fellowship to highly qualified PhD students, which covers a generous salary, tuition remission, health insurance, and a research and travel stipend.
