About us

The John de Laeter Centre (JdLC) is a $43 million core research facility at Curtin University and provides research services across the academic, industry and government sectors.

We are seeking an expert in ion microprobe techniques as part of a collaborative research infrastructure program funded by Curtin, AuScope and the Geological Survey of Western Australia. The candidate will join an experienced team within the Large Geometry Ion Microprobe (LGIM) Facility operated by the John de Laeter Centre at Curtin.

In this role you will…

  • Drive the development and application of the CAMECA 1300HR3 instrument
  • Develop and deliver training in stable and radiogenic isotope analysis to research collaborators and end-users
  • Lead a CAMECA-Curtin mineral standards development initiative
  • Undertake high calibre research

We are looking for someone with

  • A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline
  • An established record of research outputs in high quality refereed journals
  • Evidence of an establish national and international reputation and profile
  • A history of successful competitive grant applications and record of obtaining research income
  • Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment
